I have lost interest in many things over the past few weeks. Perhaps I have less energy than before. Perhaps writing more than a dozen songs in a row during the first half of the year used up all my inspiration (I am still writing new songs, but will probably only handle composition and mixing).
I picked nearly fifty films from IMDb’s Top 250 and plan to watch them all, even if I have to fast-forward.
I recently finished Psycho-Pass, which I did not find particularly good, and watched It’s a Wonderful Life, which was much better than expected and made me cry uncontrollably.
Back to the Future and The Golden Age did not bring many surprises. I mostly felt admiration, especially for the latter, which reminded me of watching The Gold Rush and Modern Times in middle school.
AI is everywhere, making an already noisy information environment even more chaotic. Some idiots paste AI output into their social feeds, hide vile ideas behind words they think make them sound knowledgeable, and calmly block anyone they dislike.
I can never hear enough of am 3:45. I hope that after retirement I can play similar music on stage with electric instruments.
“Life is a series of farewells. As we grow older, familiar faces become fewer, until we feel alone and finally accept that we too will leave.” Teacher Yibin’s words felt familiar. I recently saw another line: “We attend fewer weddings and more funerals.” (Source forgotten.) There is also teacher tombkeeper’s: “First it is people we know. Then people around us. Finally, it is ourselves.” (from https://weibo.com/1401527553/H0nAPrpkr )
The three game demos I made did not go particularly smoothly. I still do not have a clear idea of my games.
I got a flu shot a few weeks ago, but caught a cold before it took effect. A week later, I still have not fully recovered. I took some leave to sort out my thoughts.
Recently I have really enjoyed using LXGW WenKai , a beautiful typeface.
